The visit will take you to West Sumatra, South Sulawesi and Papua pavilions which represent the diversity and multicoated Indonesia's culture.
The tour will go on through the Indonesia's Museum where contemporary arts crafts and traditional costumes from around the country are showcased.

Pavilion of West Sumatra:
Discover the Rumah Gadang traditional house. It is a big house where the family lives with all the traditionally and customary aspects. In Minangkabau the “rumah gadang” is not the property of an individual but that of all the family clan. As the Minangkabau people adhere to matriarchy, the “rumah gadang” is occupied by a woman with the mother’s brother as the head of the family (“mamak tungganal”). Bachelors are not allowed to sleep in the “rumah gadang”, but must sleep in the prayer house (“surau”) since boyhood.
Pavilion or South Sulawesi we will see the Tongkonan or the traditional Torajan ancestral houses. They stand high on wooden piles, topped with a layered split-bamboo roof shaped in a sweeping curved arc, and they are incised with red, black, and yellow detailed wood carvings on the exterior walls. On the wood plies we can see the buffalo horn as the symbol of the society for the people in the Toraja Highland.

Pavilion of Papua:
The Honai which has been known for ages as the home of the Dani tribe in traditional Jayawijaya and indigenous tribes inhabiting the mountainous region of central Papua. Until now, people in the region still build Honai hereditary suit local conditions and cultural traditions.

Indonesia Museum:
Have a look at the best collection of Indonesian artifacts and handicrafts of the country, including 34 mannequin couples dressed in local wedding costumes.
